Davies’ ‘Buddha’ is second novel in Culver trilogy
By Jeff Kenney Citizen editor The sweeping beauty and old-world ambience of Culver Academies and Lake Maxinkuckee have made the area the site of several novels of fantasy and adventure of one sort or another, from Meredith Nicholson’s 1906 national bestseller, “The House of a Thousand Candles” (inspired in part by the Academies campus) to Kurt Vonnegut Jr.’s “Slapstick,” among others.
